Ryan and Ryan have a long and loving musical relationship

(1/12/15) NEW YEAR, NEW MOON

The Moon and You is freshly returned from a rejuvenating and inspiring couple of weeks on the road, mainly spent exploring the tropical delights of South Florida and the Keys. Now that we’re back home, we are excited to announce that we are about to begin recording our very first FULL-LENGTH RECORD! This project has been a long time in the works, and we’ve got tons of fresh material that we can’t wait to make into an album. We are delighted to be working with our dear and talented friend Ryan Lassiter, who will produce and record the album with us. Lassiter will also lend his outstanding talents as a drummer and percussionist to the finished product. We are hoping for a late-spring or early-summer 2015 release date. Our home will become a recording studio on January 28th, and we will spend the month of February bringing this new monster to life! Stay tuned for updates, sneak peeks and photos documenting the process of creating our first-ever big studio recording project.

Big thanks to Caitlin McCann of Dog Days Films, who shot and edited the video. Let us know what you think here!

Samantha Hyman will work with us to create sets and costumes, and will appear in the video as our Mermaid!

We are making our first official music video, and we need your help!

(8/23/14) The Moon and You is gearing up for our biggest project yet, and YOU can make it happen! Visit our Donate page to learn more and add your contribution to the pot. We will be premiering our beautiful, strange new video for The Rolling Baby Blanket of the Blue later in the fall.

Big show coming up: Emerald Lounge, Thursday 3/27

(2/28/14) We have a fantastic local show coming up that we want you to know about! Come see us with our dear friends Tina & Her Pony and Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray at one of our favorite Asheville venues, Emerald Lounge. We’ll be joined onstage by our favorite erstwhile bandmates, Dulci Ellenberger and Ryan Lassiter, so you know it will be an amazing set. And the whole thing is being filmed for the very first-ever edition of webseries Asheville City Limits! Thursday, March 27 at 8pm. Here’s the FB event page – we’d love your help spreading the word about this amazing show. Thanks!

(12/2) We are back from our Florida tour and looking forward to playing in these WNC mountains once again! This Saturday, 12/7 at 7pm we are delighted to be opening for Nikki Talley at 185 King Street in Brevard, NC. This will be our first time playing at 185 King Street, a beautiful new venue – AND our first time opening for our dear friends Nikki and Jason – so we are doubly excited for this show! See you in Brevard, my dears.

(12/2) Next Saturday, 12/14 from 7 to 10pm we play in Asheville once again, in the lobby of the beautiful Hotel Indigo downtown. This is a fun, casual gig. Come sip a beer, have a delicious meal and hear some pretty tunes. What better way to spend your Saturday evening?

(12/2) If you’ve been following us on Facebook, you already know we spent much of November gallivanting all the way down to the Florida Keys and back. We made stops in Miami to play a beautiful wedding and eat dozens of empanadas; in Tampa and the Orlando area to visit dear friends and play some really fun shows; in Jacksonville to alllllmost open for a famous singer, who canceled and left the venue last-minute; and in Savannah, GA for some QT with our friend Calvin, the greatest tour guide in the U.S.A. This was a pretty exceptional tour and we’ve got some great pictures and stories over on our Facebook page. So come check ’em out – and give us a “like” if you haven’t already!
